The building has that solid, early 20th-century feel that you find throughout this part of the city — nothing flashy, but definitely reassuring when you’re wheeling your suitcase up to the entrance.

What I really appreciated was getting an actual apartment rather than just a hotel room. The space feels like someone’s well-maintained city flat — there’s a proper kitchen with everything you’d need if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Rimi and make breakfast yourself. Walk ten minutes in one direction and you’ll hit the Old Town; walk ten minutes the other way and you’re in Centrs with all the shops and cafes. I mean, you could easily walk to most places you’d want to see, though there’s decent parking if you’re driving (which I’d honestly recommend against in Riga’s center).

When I had questions about getting to the airport early in the morning, they actually had useful suggestions beyond “take a taxi.” The wifi works properly throughout the apartment, the heating keeps up with Riga’s unpredictable weather, and there’s enough hot water for a proper shower after walking around the city all day.
