Once you’re inside apartment 18a, everything changes. The two-bedroom setup is honestly perfect for families or friends traveling together — I mean, you actually get space to spread out without bumping into each other every five minutes. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just some sad mini-fridge situation), and I found myself making morning coffee there instead of hunting for cafés right away. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense.

Location Reality Check

Here’s the thing about that “10 minutes to Old Town” claim — it’s actually true, but only if you walk at a decent pace. I timed it myself because, well, I’m that kind of traveler. From Blaumaņa iela, you can definitely reach the edge of Riga‘s historic center in about eight to ten minutes on foot. What they don’t tell you is that you’ll pass some great local spots along the way, including a small grocery store that saved me multiple times.

The Neighborhood Feel

This area isn’t touristy at all, which I actually loved. You’re staying where real Rigans live, so you get glimpses of actual daily life — people walking dogs, kids heading to school, that sort of thing. The building itself is quiet (at least during my stay), and there’s something nice about coming back to a residential street after spending the day exploring the busier parts of the city. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving.

Look, this isn’t going to win any design awards, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you consider the value — you’re getting a proper apartment experience in central Riga without paying central Riga hotel prices. I’d definitely book the Central 2BR Apartment again, especially if I were staying more than just a night or two. Sometimes practical beats flashy, and this place gets that balance right.
