Families & Groups – 4 Bedrooms – Spacious 110m2 – Perfect Location
You know what really surprised me about this place on Aleksandra Čaka iela? I mean, sure, the apartment name is a bit of a mouthful – “Families & Groups – 4 Bedrooms – Spacious 110m2 – Perfect Location” – but honestly, they’re not overselling it. I’ve stayed in plenty of “spacious” places that turned out to be glorified closets, but this one actually delivers on the square footage promise.
The location is what really gets me though. You’re basically in the heart of Centrs, which locals will tell you is where you want to be, but tucked away on a side street that doesn’t get the crazy foot traffic of some of the main drags. I walked to the Freedom Monument in about eight minutes – timed it because I’m weird like that – and you’re practically around the corner from some of the best coffee spots in the city. There’s this little bakery two blocks down that I stumbled onto every morning, and the old ladies running it started recognizing me by day three. The building itself has that solid Soviet-era construction (you know, the kind where you can’t hear your neighbors through the walls), but the apartment inside feels completely renovated and modern.
What actually impressed me most was how they managed to fit four proper bedrooms into the space without making it feel cramped. I mean, we had seven people staying there – three couples and a single friend – and nobody felt like they were stepping on each other. The living area is genuinely spacious, not just “for Europe” spacious, and the kitchen has enough counter space that we could actually cook dinner without doing dishes between every step. The WiFi was solid throughout (tested it in every room because I’m that person), and honestly, the whole place just felt lived-in rather than sterile. You can tell someone put thought into the details – decent hangers in the closets, enough outlets near the beds, that sort of thing that makes you think the owner has actually traveled before. The 9.8 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not luxury by any means, but it’s exactly what you’d want for a group trip. Easy check-in process too, though I’d recommend coordinating arrival times in advance since it’s not a traditional hotel setup. Only minor gripe is that the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights, but honestly, if you’re staying in central Riga and expecting monastery-level quiet, you’re probably in the wrong city anyway.
