Elegant Apartment in historical centre & Free Locked PARKING
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name makes it sound like just another generic apartment rental, but honestly, it’s so much more than that. I mean, when you’re walking down E. Birznieka-Upisa iela – and yes, I had to practice saying that street name a few times – you’re literally in the heart of where Riga’s story unfolds. The building itself has this gorgeous Art Nouveau facade that you’ll recognize if you’ve done any wandering around the city center, and apartment 2A sits right in the sweet spot where you get the historical charm without the tourist chaos.
The locked parking situation is actually a game-changer, and I can’t stress this enough. If you’ve ever tried to find a spot in Old Town Riga, you’ll understand why this matters so much. Most of these historical apartments either don’t have parking at all or you’re stuck circling blocks looking for street parking that costs a fortune. Here, you pull up, get your key, and you’re done – no stress, no hunting around. The apartment itself feels like someone’s elegant home rather than a sterile rental property. The ceilings are high in that distinctly Baltic way, and there’s this wonderful mix of period details with modern touches that actually work together. You’ll notice the windows are substantial – thick glass that keeps out the sound from the street below, which gets surprisingly busy during the day with locals cutting through to avoid the main tourist routes.
What really sets this apart is the location knowledge you gain just by staying here. You’re a five-minute walk from the Freedom Monument, but more importantly, you’re around the corner from where locals actually eat and shop. There’s this little bakery on the next street over that opens ridiculously early – perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag – and the morning light hits the apartment just right if you’re an early riser. The 9.7 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s those small details that add up. The check-in process is smooth, the place is immaculately clean, and honestly, it just feels like you’re staying in Riga rather than just passing through. I stayed during shoulder season in late spring, and the whole area had this lovely unhurried feel – busy enough to feel alive, but not so packed that you’re fighting crowds every time you step outside. The only tiny thing I’d mention is that the building entrance is a bit understated, so keep your eyes open for the address numbers or you might walk right past it like I did on the first day.
