It’s tucked away on Matīsa iela, which honestly feels more like a proper neighborhood than a touristy hotel zone – and that’s exactly why I ended up loving it. The building itself is this typical Soviet-era block that you’d walk past without thinking twice, but step inside apartment 101 and it’s like someone took all the good parts of staying with a friend and made it actually comfortable.

The space has this really lived-in feel that’s hard to fake. I mean, you can tell Zanna actually cares about the details – there’s proper coffee (not those terrible instant packets), the shower pressure is surprisingly decent, and the bed doesn’t feel like it came from a hotel supply catalog. What really sold me was the kitchen setup. It’s small but functional, with enough real dishes and cookware that you could actually make a meal instead of just heating up leftovers. The whole place gets great light in the morning, which sounds minor but honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to ease into the day. Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to the Old Town, but here’s the thing – you’re also right in the middle of where actual Riga residents live and work. There’s a solid grocery store practically next door, and the tram stop is close enough that getting around the city is pretty straightforward. I actually preferred being slightly outside the tourist bubble because you get a better sense of what the city actually feels like. The neighborhood gets quiet at night, which was perfect for sleeping, but there’s enough going on during the day that it doesn’t feel dead or isolated.

The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense once you stay here. It’s not trying to be fancy or impress anyone – it’s just really well thought out. Zanna responds quickly to messages, check-in was smooth, and the whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in typical accommodation. If you’re the type who prefers character over corporate polish, and you want to experience Riga like you’re actually living there for a few days rather than just passing through, this is definitely worth considering. Just don’t expect a hotel lobby or room service – this is about having your own space in a real part of the city.

  the place is not far from things and places you need to be. you have everything you need for a short stay.
  the host was very easy to contact and she attended to our needs very well.
  there are buses and tram stops conveniently located along the area. the place itself is safe and secured and clean!
  
  What could be improved: the brightness in the bedroom. since we're there during summer, it gets bright outside too early and the windows aren't covered with blinds so you have to be creative when it comes to darkening the room for us to sleep longer.

  Очень чисто, уютно, в апартаментах есть все необходимое для жизни- посуда, чай/кофе, микроволновка, чайник, стиральная машина, фен, полотенца, шампунь и гель для душа, даже бальзам для волос- тут заботятся о жителях на 5/5..)) легко добраться общественным транспортом, рядом есть несколько магазинов, тихий и спокойный район.
