Three bedroom apt – next to St Peters Church Riga
First Impressions
Three bedroom apt – next to St Peters Church Riga sits right in the heart of Old Town, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. You’re literally steps away from one of Riga‘s most iconic landmarks — I mean, St. Peter’s Church tower is practically your neighbor. This three-star apartment feels more like staying in someone’s well-kept home than a typical hotel, which actually works in its favor.
The Space
The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for Old Town standards. Three separate bedrooms mean you’re not cramped together if you’re traveling with family or friends, and there’s a proper living area where you can actually spread out. The kitchen is fully equipped — I was able to make coffee in the morning and even prepare simple meals, which saved me quite a bit when I didn’t feel like venturing out for every meal. The furnishings are clean and functional, nothing fancy but everything you need is there.
Location & Neighborhood
Being on Grēcinieku iela puts you right in the thick of things, but it’s actually quieter than you’d expect. St. Peter’s Church is literally next door, so you can climb the tower whenever you want without planning your day around it. The walk to Town Hall Square takes maybe three minutes, and you’re within easy reach of all the main sights in the Old Town. What I really appreciated was having actual grocery stores nearby — there’s a small market just around the corner that locals use.
The Experience
You know what struck me most? The building has character — those thick walls and high ceilings that old Riga buildings are known for. The room stays surprisingly cool in summer, and you can hear the church bells throughout the day, which sounds touristy but is actually quite charming. The Wi-Fi works well, and there’s decent water pressure in the shower. It’s not glamorous, but it’s genuinely comfortable and feels authentic to the neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gives you the full Old Town experience without the hotel markup or tourist trap feeling. You’re staying where locals actually live, in a building that’s been part of Riga’s story for decades. The three bedrooms make it perfect for small groups, and having that kitchen means you can grab fresh bread from the bakery down the street and have breakfast overlooking the medieval streets. Sure, it’s not polished like a chain hotel, but that’s exactly the point — you’re getting an authentic slice of Riga life in one of the most historic spots in the city.
