Studio Elizabete 3 Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Studio Elizabete 3” on the booking site, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty generic, and three stars in Riga? Could go either way. But you know what, this little place actually surprised me in all the right ways.

The location is probably the biggest win here. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Freedom Monument, which means you’re in the thick of everything without dealing with the tourist chaos of Old Town. Elizabetes Street itself is one of those quiet residential streets where locals actually live – I mean, there’s a small grocery store right around the corner where the cashier started recognizing me by day three. The trams run pretty regularly down nearby streets, so getting around is honestly easier than I expected. Plus, and this matters if you’re driving, there’s decent parking in the area without the nightmare of navigating those narrow medieval streets.

What really got me was how the place feels more like staying at a friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The studios are compact but smartly laid out – whoever designed these actually thought about how people live, not just how to cram in furniture. The kitchen setup is basic but functional (I made coffee every morning and even attempted some local rye bread and cheese situations). The building itself has that solid Soviet-era construction, which honestly means thick walls and blessed silence at night. I was worried about street noise, but Elizabetes is residential enough that you mostly just hear the occasional tram in the distance. The WiFi actually works – I had video calls without issues, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed.

Here’s the thing about Riga that took me a while to figure out: it’s not a city where you need to be right in the postcard-perfect center to enjoy yourself. Some of the best restaurants and bars are scattered around the newer parts of the city, and from Studio Elizabete 3, you can walk to places like Folkklubs ALA Pagrabs or grab dinner in the Quiet Center without feeling like you’re trekking across town. The 8.7 rating makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails the fundamentals. Clean, comfortable, reliable, and the kind of place where you can actually relax instead of feeling like you’re living in a showroom.

The staff keeps things low-key but helpful – they’re not hovering, but when I needed restaurant recommendations, they gave me actual local spots instead of tourist traps. Check-in was smooth, and honestly, the whole experience felt refreshingly uncomplicated. If you’re looking for marble bathrooms and concierge service, this isn’t your place. But if you want a solid base for exploring Riga without paying Old Town prices, and you appreciate staying somewhere that feels authentic rather than generic, Studio Elizabete 3 delivers exactly what it promises.

Reviews of Studio Elizabete 3

  • Great place to visit beautiful Riga – Thomas from Germany – 11 July 2025 (10/10)

Perfect place in the middle of the Jugendstil quarter. Around 10 min by foot to the old town and buses/tram nearby. Nice little apartment with everything you need. Nice and helpful owner!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Without the amenities of this place, my trip would have been a disaster. – Thomas from United States – 5 February 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is situated in a nice safe neighborhood (the Ukrainian embassy is just down the street), close to bus and trams and several grocery stores within walking distance, even for a seventy year old like me. The old town is a twenty minute walk away, even quicker by mass transit. And one of the ubiquitous Narvesens (the Latvian 7/11) is just down the block, where you can get bus tickets, sim cards and the usual odds and ends. All in all, a good location and a great bargain.

What could be improved: Just a personal pet peeve, but there is no functioning clock in the apartment. I tend to dawdle, so to keep myself on track I need to know what time it is on a regular basis. Without a clock, I have to keep checking my phone. But, that's just me.

  • Nice comfortable apartments with good location – Hanna from Ukraine – 4 October 2024 (10/10)

+ Room amenities. + Location. + Comfortable bed

What could be improved: Shower basin needs some repair

The location, Good communication with host and very much appreciated early check-in and late check-out. Very good value.

What could be improved: Everything was great and there was nothing we didn’t like.

  • Clean, aesthetic environment. Calming, uplifting. Liked and might return 🙂 – Līva from Latvia – 25 April 2024 (10/10)

Very nice and helpful host. All information clear. Apartment had all the neccesary appliances, even the fridge had a decent freezer.

  • Very good – Ondrej from Czech Republic – 8 February 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: the fridge was very loud, but i can understand it, otherwise it was really good, location was great 🙂

  • A fine stay:) – Yi-ann from Thailand – 30 July 2023 (8/10)

The apartment is located in a nice area with art nouveau buildings and great access to amazing restaurants, a park, a nice organic supermarket and a cool bookstore etc. The studio is clean and spacious and have everything you need including a coffee machine!

What could be improved: The studio does not get much natural light so it gets quite dark even in the summer if you don’t turn on lights. It lacks a little bit of characteristic and is less homy/cozy compared to other places we stayed with the same price. The dishes in the cupboard are a bit oily – we had to wash everything properly again before using, but the other parts of the apartment are very clean and new!

  • Exceptional – Martina from Czech Republic – 13 July 2023 (10/10)

A well-equipped, comfortable appartment in a beautiful neighbourhood. Easy communication with the host.

  • Superb – Veronika from Czech Republic – 7 April 2023 (9/10)

nice apartment, near the city centre

  • very good! – Tomass from Sweden – 25 March 2023 (9/10)

Perfect location in the city center. The best district to be – safe, clean, beautiful embassy area. A lot of cafes and restaurants around on the near streets, perfect option to have breakfast each day at different place. Apartment looks great, is clean and comfortable, and also it was warm. Perfect communication with the host, all info provided on time.
