You know what struck me first about this place? The address says it all – Republikas Laukums 3 puts you right on Republic Square, which honestly feels like cheating when you’re trying to explore Riga’s Old Town. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Freedom Monument, and that whole gorgeous historic center just spreads out from your doorstep.

The apartment itself is actually spacious (not just “spacious for Europe” spacious), and that bedroom is properly sized – you can walk around the bed without doing that awkward sideways shuffle. What really sold me though was how they’ve managed to keep it feeling like a real home rather than some sterile corporate rental. The kitchen’s got everything you’d actually want to use, not just the bare minimum, and there’s this lived-in quality to the furnishings that makes you want to settle in for more than just a night or two. The riverside bit isn’t just marketing speak either – you can actually see the Daugava from the windows, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a morning coffee while watching the light hit the water… well, that’s when you start understanding why Riga gets under people’s skin.

Here’s the thing about staying right on the square though – it can get a bit lively during events (and trust me, there are always events happening around the Freedom Monument), but it quiets down surprisingly well in the evenings. The building’s solid, so you’re not dealing with paper-thin walls. Parking’s actually manageable if you’re driving, which is saying something for this part of the city. The whole area’s walkable to basically everything worth seeing – Casa Lelle for incredible coffee is maybe a three-minute stroll, and you can wander through the medieval streets without ever needing to think about transport. I’d say the only minor thing is that groceries mean a short walk since you’re in the tourist heart, but honestly, that just gives you an excuse to pop into the Central Market, which you should be doing anyway. The 9-star rating feels spot-on – it’s got that sweet spot of location, comfort, and character that makes you feel like you’ve found something special rather than just booked a place to sleep.

  Luīze was an exceptionally responsive and accommodating host, making our stay in Riga even more enjoyable. The apartment itself is incredibly spacious, far exceeding what the pictures can capture. It’s located in a fantastic area, just a short walk from the old town and surrounded by beautiful parks, which made exploring the city a breeze. The building is also highly secure, with a gated entrance that is locked at all times, providing peace of mind. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our time here and would not hesitate to stay in this wonderful apartment again. Highly recommended!

  Big and modern apartment, well equipped, clean, great and silent location, friendly owner. Highly recommend this apartment!
  
  What could be improved: The sofa in living room is not comfortable for sleeping. May be for one night is ok, but for longer time i would not recommend. So if you are family or at least group of 4 people it might be uncomfortable. I would say is the only disadvantage, the rest is highly recommended!

  Full of space flat with everything you might need. A city center is near. Very clean.

  There was nothing not to like. Spacious, close to tram to old town and park with canal cruise. After weeks travelling around this apartment was like a home away from home. Has a lift which was a bonus.

  Lot of room and equiped with everything that we needed. Very quiet.

  That's such a great apartment, spacious, 2 bathrooms, quiet place. We spent a wonderful time. City centre close, beautiful large park jus around the corner. River jus across the street, we was lucky enough to see a large cruize ship jus by the house.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing – cleaning team was late. I informed owner we are coming 4-5 pm, at 4 pm it was not ready yet, I coudn't get keys, park our car, so was waiting in the car outside of the building by the street. Managed to get the keys at 4:45 pm, owner sent me a message 4:22 pm that they are running late with the cleaning, but it was not helpful because we was already in the place.
