Quiet Old Town Apartment with Elevator Access Overview
First Impressions
The Quiet Old Town Apartment with Elevator Access sits right on Smilšu iela, and honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot in Riga. I mean, when couples are giving the location a perfect 10, you know something’s working. The building itself has that classic Baltic charm — you know, the kind where you feel like you’re stepping into a piece of history, but then there’s actually an elevator, which is honestly a godsend when you’re hauling luggage up to the third floor.
Location & Neighborhood
What really struck me about this place is how it manages to be in the absolute heart of Old Town without feeling touristy or overwhelming. You’re literally steps away from the cobblestone streets and medieval architecture, but the apartment itself feels like a peaceful retreat. The location score of 9.5 makes total sense — I could walk to pretty much everything I wanted to see, from the House of Blackheads to the Central Market. There’s something special about being able to duck back to your own space whenever the crowds get a bit much.
The Space
The room setup is what you’d expect from a well-thought-out city apartment — functional but comfortable. It’s not trying to be fancy, which I actually appreciated. The elevator access really does make a difference, especially if you’re staying for more than a night or two. You get that authentic Old Town living experience without sacrificing modern conveniences. The windows face the street, so you get a real sense of the neighborhood rhythm — morning coffee with the sound of people heading to work, evening quiet as the area settles down.
What Makes It Special
Here’s the thing about staying in Old Town Riga — most places are either too touristy or too isolated from the action. This apartment hits that sweet spot where you’re genuinely living like a local, but with all the historic sites right outside your door. The building has character without being run-down, and the fact that it’s specifically designed for travelers means they’ve thought through the details that matter. I found myself using it as a base to explore not just the Old Town, but the whole city — the Art Nouveau district is just a pleasant walk away.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.5-star rating tells the real story here — this isn’t about flashy amenities or over-the-top service, it’s about getting the fundamentals right. Couples especially seem to love how it gives them their own little corner of one of Europe’s most beautiful old cities. You’re not sharing breakfast with strangers or dealing with hotel lobby noise, but you’re also not stuck in some generic apartment complex on the outskirts. It’s that perfect balance of independence and location that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, even though you’re right in the middle of everything.

Reviews of Quiet Old Town Apartment with Elevator Access
It was fine – Veronika from Lithuania – 23 January 2025 (7/10)
The location is great
What could be improved: No natural light in the apartment
Shower fan is very loud and there is no way to turn it off
Dirty black towel in the shower
There is nowhere to put your shampoos and so on in the shower itself
Hairdryer was hidden in a weird placeSuperb – Martina from Italy – 27 June 2024 (9/10)
Perfect position, clean and easy to reach from the city center.
Great płace – Aneta from Poland – 15 December 2023 (10/10)
Good contact with host and location was great! Couldn’t ask for more
If you want location, clean, cooperative host, it's a great place to stay for a few days. – Rozenbergs from United States – 30 September 2023 (7/10)
Location! Safe area. Comfortable bed and the elevator.
What could be improved: The refrigerator needs to be defrosted, making loud noises. No air conditioner that works, even though they don't advertise a air conditioner, but there is one there. Wish there were some table lights. The room is very dark and gets minimal sun.okay for the price and location, wouldn't go back though. – Matyas from Austria – 15 August 2023 (5/10)
to be honest, the location and the price of the place were a huge plus for us.
What could be improved: well, I don't know where to start…
The apartment listing is misleading, two places are shown in the pictures at the same time, and all of it is misleading. We got the smaller place, which wouldn't be a problem, but the setup was terrible- The kitchen is not a kitchen at all, with no sink, and no coffee machine at all (as promised and written on the listing). No toiletries besides soap (no dishwasher soap either for the kitchen). Barely a teeny tiny window in the living room, and on top of that, every other lamp is not working. Some of them are even falling out of the ceiling. The bidet is leaking more than it's working, flooding the bathroom. And the fridge is kinda broken. And there is no washing machine, which is as well on the main listing for the property.
On the small bedroom sofa there are a bunch of questionable marks, similar ones are on the sofa and on the cushions in the living room as well.
I am sure, I forgot a few things. At least the city looks wonderful^^Comfortable stay in center of old town – Srikumar from Denmark – 30 July 2023 (8/10)
Right at the center of old town. Comfortable bed. Clean and hygienic toilet. Good shower facility. Overall a very clean property.
What could be improved: It was listed as a self catering apartment. However it was an electric, plugin single induction stove that was kept on top of a wooden cupboard. No utensils, basically nothing available that allows you to cook. There was just one vessel which was kind of improperly washed and dried up. We were particular about a decently equipped kitchen that would allow us to have our own meals, it was not to be the case here. Its a farce to call this a kitchen facility.Overall a great place to stay. – Linda from Australia – 11 July 2023 (9/10)
Well situated in Old Town with safe and easy walking access to restaurants, city centre, parks, shops and transport. It was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: Had to wash dishes in the bathroom hand basin. Minimal windows for airflow.Ok – Mirva from Finland – 2 July 2023 (7/10)
Cool apartment even weather was hot. Location is great. Peaceful.
What could be improved: There's no doorstep or block under the bathroom door. Water comes out easily to hallway. And nothing to dry the bathroom floor with. Not enough toiletpaper provided for 3 night for 3 people and no paper towels.Clean, well located apartment in the heart of Riga’s old town – Amy from United Kingdom – 26 June 2023 (9/10)
Great location in the heart of the old town, but back off any main streets so nice and quiet. The apartment was beautifully clean throughout. It was really nice and comfortable. the check in instructions were very clear- the host sent photos and detailed instructions which made it a seamless process. I would happily stay here again when next in Riga.
What could be improved: The living room was dark as there is only one tiny window into a dim light well in the middle of the buildings. This wasn’t a problem for me as I was only using it as a place to sleep/shower. Check out time wasn’t clear.will not stay is such apartment again – Am from South Africa – 11 June 2023 (6/10)
location i loves…….no breakfast
What could be improved: No outside windows …….no sun into the apartment ……aircons did not work …..apartment was cold …..difficult to get to the apartment everytime
