The two-bedroom setup is honestly perfect for anyone who wants space to breathe after a day of wandering the cobblestones. The living area has this warm, lived-in feeling with modern touches that actually work (unlike some places where the “designer” furniture looks good but feels like sitting on cardboard). What I loved most was the kitchen – it’s properly equipped, not just the usual sad hotplate situation you get in most city apartments. I made coffee every morning and could hear the Old Town waking up through the windows, which sounds romantic but isn’t annoyingly loud. The bedroom situation works well too; the main bedroom gets nice light, and the second one is perfect for friends traveling together or if you need a quiet space to work.

Here’s the thing about staying on Kungu iela – you’re positioned perfectly between the tourist stuff and actual Riga life. Walk one direction and you’re at the cathedral in five minutes, walk the other way and you hit some excellent local cafes that aren’t overrun with tour groups. The 9.5 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be fancy (this is still a 3-star place, after all), but everything just works smoothly. Check-in was straightforward, the WiFi actually functions properly, and the heating kept things comfortable even during my chilly October visit. The only minor thing – and this might bother light sleepers – is that you’ll hear some street noise during weekend evenings since the Old Town does get lively. But honestly, that’s part of the charm of staying in the heart of things rather than some sterile hotel district. If you want to really experience Riga instead of just visiting it, this apartment gives you that local feeling while keeping you walking distance from everything that matters.
