Park view Apartment in Kraslavas street
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The fact that it’s tucked away on Krāslavas iela, which honestly isn’t the first street tourists think of when they picture Riga, but that’s exactly why it works so well. I mean, you’re still solidly in the city center – I could walk to Old Town in about fifteen minutes – but you’re actually living like a local instead of being stuck in some tourist bubble.
The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for what you pay, and the park view they mention? It’s legit. You’re looking out at Uzvaras parks, and I have to say, watching people walk their dogs in the morning while you’re having coffee feels pretty perfect. The building is one of those solid Soviet-era constructions, which means thick walls (you won’t hear your neighbors) but also means the elevator is… well, let’s call it vintage. The apartment on the fourth floor was worth the climb though – everything inside has been updated nicely without losing that European apartment charm. Kitchen’s actually functional too, not just for show, which matters if you’re staying more than a few days.
What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. There’s a small grocery store literally around the corner on Elizabetes iela, and you’ve got that whole stretch of cafes and restaurants that locals actually go to, not just tourist traps. The tram stop is maybe a three-minute walk, so getting around the city is dead simple. Parking can be a bit tricky during weekdays – street parking fills up fast with office workers – but evenings and weekends are fine. The host was straightforward about check-in, none of that awkward key-handoff drama, and honestly seemed to know the area well enough to give decent recommendations. The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want from a city apartment: clean, comfortable, and situated where you can actually experience Riga instead of just passing through it.
