Newly renovated cozy 2 bedroom apartment
You know what really surprised me about this place on Stabu iela? It’s one of those rare finds where “newly renovated” actually means something. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of apartments where that phrase just means they slapped some paint on the walls and called it a day, but this 2-bedroom genuinely feels fresh and thoughtfully put together.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Riga like someone who actually lives here. Stabu street sits right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the Old Town (maybe 15 minutes at a leisurely pace), but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds and restaurant touts every time you step outside. There’s this little corner shop practically next door where I grabbed morning coffee and pastries – the kind of place where the owner starts recognizing you after a couple days. The area has that authentic residential vibe during the day, but it’s not dead quiet either. You’ll hear some street noise, but nothing that kept me up at night, and honestly, it felt more like the natural soundtrack of city life than actual disturbance.
What really sets this apartment apart is the attention to detail in the renovation. The kitchen actually has everything you need (and I mean everything – proper knives, decent cookware, even a coffee maker that doesn’t look like it’s from 1995). The bedrooms are genuinely cozy without being cramped, and the whole place has this warm, lived-in feeling that makes you want to stay in and cook dinner rather than always eating out. The WiFi is solid – I was working remotely for part of my stay and never had issues. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood, but that’s pretty standard for central Riga, and there are always spots within a block or two if you’re patient. The check-in process was smooth, and the host clearly knows the building and area well – they gave me tips about which grocery store has the best selection and warned me that the tram gets crowded around 8 AM (which saved me from a very uncomfortable commute one morning). I’d definitely come back here, especially if I was traveling with friends or family since having two proper bedrooms makes such a difference. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out, feel at home, and still be right in the heart of one of Europe’s most underrated cities.
