You know what struck me first about this place? The name actually delivers – it really is smack in the center of Riga, and honestly, the modern comfort part isn’t just marketing fluff. I mean, Sporta iela isn’t the most glamorous street name, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Opera House and maybe eight minutes to the Freedom Monument. That’s the kind of location where you can stumble back from Vecrīga’s cobblestone maze without needing a taxi.

The building itself has this interesting thing going on where it feels contemporary but doesn’t clash with Riga’s mix of Art Nouveau and Soviet-era architecture. Walking in, there’s this clean, uncluttered lobby that actually smells fresh – not like that overpowering hotel air freshener you get in some places. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful, not just going through the motions, and they knew their stuff about getting around the city. One guy even mentioned which tram lines to avoid during rush hour, which saved me about twenty minutes the next morning.

The rooms themselves are where that “modern comfort” really shows up. Everything works properly – and I say that as someone who’s dealt with too many European hotels where the shower has two temperatures: arctic or scalding. The beds are actually comfortable (not just Instagram-pretty), and there’s decent soundproofing, which matters because Sporta iela can get a bit lively on weekend nights. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building, even in the elevator, which is weirdly rare. What I really appreciated were the little touches – proper blackout curtains, enough electrical outlets that you’re not choosing between charging your phone and using the coffee maker, and a bathroom mirror that doesn’t fog up completely after a hot shower. The cleaning staff clearly takes pride in their work too; everything stayed spotless during my stay, and they’re quiet about it – no vacuum cleaner symphonies at 7 AM.

Look, it’s a three-star place, so don’t expect marble lobbies or a spa, but honestly? That 10 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. You’re paying for location, reliability, and genuine comfort rather than fancy amenities you probably won’t use anyway. It’s the kind of hotel where business travelers and tourists both feel at home, and where you can actually get a good night’s sleep before exploring everything Riga has to offer. Plus, there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it promises to be.

  Švarus, tvarkingas, jaukus butas. Virtuvėje yra viskas, ko reikia, jeigu nori gamintis maistą. Vonioje yra higienos priemonės, rankšluosčiai. Yra kiemas uždaromais vartais, kuriame ya vieta automobilio parkavimui. Netoli yra maisto parduotuvės. Nėra toli nueiti iki miesto centro ir pėsčiomis. Maloni šeiminkė atvykus mūsų jau laukė, viską parodė. Patogu grąžinti raktus. Jei tektų vėl važiuoti į Rygą, mielai vėl pasirinktume šią nakvynės vietą.

  Viskas buvo nuostabu, vietą miesto centras viskas ranka pasiekiama. Savininkė labai maloni ir kaina nėra didelė. Džiaugiuosi pasirinkęs šią vietą. Ateityje būtinai grįšiu! ☺️
