Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place on Krāsotāju iela? The name says “Modern apartment” but honestly, it feels more like staying at a friend’s well-kept flat than some sterile hotel room. I mean, don’t get me wrong – it’s definitely modern, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it that I wasn’t expecting from the listing.
The free parking thing is actually a huge deal if you know Rīga at all. Most places in the city center will charge you through the nose for a parking spot, or you’ll spend twenty minutes circling blocks looking for street parking that doesn’t exist. Here, you just pull up and you’re done – which is pretty liberating when you’re hauling luggage or groceries from Rimi (there’s one about a five-minute walk away, by the way). The apartment itself has that clean, Scandinavian-influenced vibe that’s become popular in the Baltics, but it doesn’t feel cold or museum-like. The kitchen actually has proper pots and pans, not those flimsy things you usually get in short-term rentals, and the Wi-Fi is solid – I was working remotely for part of my stay and never had issues.
What I really appreciated was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re far enough from Old Town to avoid the tourist crowds and those late-night bachelor parties that stumble through the cobblestone streets, but close enough that a quick tram ride gets you to Doma laukums in about fifteen minutes. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet – mostly locals going about their business, a few cafés that don’t scream “tourist trap,” and this nice residential feel where you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic. Well, there is some traffic noise from the main road, but it’s not the kind that keeps you awake. The building’s windows are decent quality, which helps. I stayed there in late spring and could sleep with windows cracked open without issue.
The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Check-in was straightforward (though I’d recommend confirming the process ahead of time since it’s not a traditional hotel setup), and the space was genuinely clean. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and the shower has good water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in older Rīga buildings. If you’re the type who needs a concierge or daily housekeeping, this obviously isn’t your spot. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring the city without paying Old Town prices, and you value having your own space to spread out a bit, it’s a solid choice. Plus, that parking situation – I can’t stress enough how much easier it makes everything when you’re not constantly worried about where to leave your car.

Всё устроило и понравилось.
