The address sounds pretty fancy, but this part of Rīga is actually more residential than touristy, which turned out to be exactly what made Metropolia Apartment Deluxe so great. You’re staying in a real neighborhood here, not some sterile hotel district where everything closes at 9 PM.

The apartment itself? Well, it’s one of those places where someone actually thought about how people live. The kitchen isn’t just for show – I mean, you’ve got proper counter space and appliances that work (you know how rare that is in some European rentals). What really got me was the little touches… decent coffee cups instead of those tiny hotel ones, and the shower pressure was honestly better than what I have at home. The whole place feels like someone’s well-maintained apartment rather than a corporate box, if that makes sense. Plus, being on the fourth floor means you get these surprisingly nice views over the area – nothing dramatic, but it’s pleasant to wake up to actual trees and local life instead of a brick wall.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: parking is actually pretty straightforward around there, which is a huge relief if you’re driving in Rīga. The area gets busy during morning rush hour (around 7-8 AM), but it’s genuinely quiet in the evenings. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride to Old Town, and honestly, that distance works in your favor – you can escape the tourist crowds when you want to, but you’re not stranded out in the suburbs either. There’s a decent grocery store within walking distance, and I found this little café about two blocks away that locals actually go to. The only minor thing is that the building entrance isn’t super obvious from the street, so give yourself an extra few minutes when you first arrive. But the check-in was smooth, and the place was spotless when I got there. For what you’re paying, especially compared to the generic hotels in the city center, this feels like you’re getting way more space and personality for your money.
