The private parking situation is a godsend, and I mean that literally if you’ve ever tried to find a spot in Riga’s city center on a Friday evening. You’re tucked away from the tourist chaos but still close enough that you can walk to the Old Town when the mood strikes – though honestly, I found myself hanging around the neighborhood more than I expected. There’s this little grocery store just down the street where the owner started recognizing me by day three, and the morning coffee ritual at the café around the corner became this unexpectedly peaceful part of my routine. The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that you can’t fake – everything actually works (you’d be surprised how rare that is), the wifi doesn’t cut out during video calls, and whoever set this place up clearly understands that travelers need proper lighting and enough outlets for all their devices.

What really won me over was the attention to details that matter but rarely get mentioned in typical hotel descriptions. The shower has excellent water pressure – I know, weird thing to obsess over, but try finding that consistently in Europe. The neighborhood gets pleasantly quiet after about 9 PM, which meant I actually slept through the night instead of being jolted awake by drunk tourists or delivery trucks. During my stay in early October, the area felt lived-in but not crowded – locals walking their dogs, kids heading to school, that kind of authentic daily rhythm that makes you feel less like an outsider.
