You know what struck me first about this little place on Merkela Street? The building itself has that solid, pre-war charm that makes you feel like you’re actually staying somewhere with history, not just another cookie-cutter rental. I mean, Merkela 7 sits right in that sweet spot where you’re genuinely in Old Town but not drowning in tourist crowds every time you step outside.

The studio itself is honestly better than I expected – and I’ve stayed in a lot of these European city apartments that promise more than they deliver. This one actually gets it right. The space feels bigger than it probably is (clever layout, I think), and whoever set it up clearly understands what travelers need. The kitchen isn’t just for show – you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to save some euros, though honestly, with places like Folkklubs and that amazing little bakery just around the corner, you might not bother much. The bed’s comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with medieval torture devices, which… well, you know how hit-or-miss that can be in these old buildings.

What really sold me on the location was walking to Doma laukums in about three minutes, but also being able to duck into that little Rimi market on Elizabetes when I needed basics without trekking across the city. The trams are right there too – actually, you’ll hear them occasionally, but it’s more of a gentle city soundtrack than anything annoying. I was worried about noise being so central, but the windows are decent and the courtyard-facing side stays pretty quiet even on weekend nights. Check-in was smooth (they actually responded to messages quickly, which seems rare these days), and the whole experience felt more like borrowing a local friend’s place than staying in some corporate setup. The 9.2 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what it says it is, done well. For the price point and that location, you’re getting solid value in a city where hotel rooms in the center can cost twice as much and give you half the character.

  Amazing location. Tasteful interior design and furniture. There is a curtain to separate the sleeping area and kitchen.

  Lokalizacja bardzo dobra, blisko dworca, centrum komunikacji miejskiej i galerii handlowej, do starówki też niedaleko, na spokojnej ulicy. Doskonale wyposażony apartament, cichy i wygodny. Dobrze napisana instrukcja do posługiwania się kodem do drzwi.

  Понравилось все, удобное расположение, обстановка. Квартира соответствует описанию. Было страшно так как мало отзывов, а оказалось все круто. Каждая деталь продумана. Все гармонично. Чисто. свежее белье, полотенце, столовые приборы, все было супер. Всегда были на связи 24/7, оперативно отвечали на все вопросы, интересовались сами, все ли хорошо. Есть вай-фай хотя в описании указанно, что интернета нет. Хочется более подробного описания на сайте. Очень все коротко.
