I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of “large” apartments that turned out to be two cramped rooms with a kitchenette, but this one actually delivers on that promise. Three proper bedrooms – not just spaces where they shoved a bed and called it good – and the balcony is honestly one of those little luxuries that makes you feel like you’re living in Riga rather than just visiting it.

The location on Dzirnavu is pretty brilliant, actually. It’s this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in tourist crowds every time you step outside. The tram thing isn’t just marketing speak either – I timed it, and you really can get to Old Town in about five minutes once you hop on. What they don’t mention is that there’s this great little market just two blocks down where locals actually shop, and the morning coffee smells from the café downstairs will probably wake you up before your alarm does (in the best possible way). The neighborhood has that lived-in feeling where you’ll see the same dog walker every morning and start nodding hello by day three.

Inside, it’s clear someone actually thought about how people live rather than just throwing together rental furniture. The kitchen has decent counter space – enough that you can actually cook if you want to, not just reheat things. The living room doesn’t feel like an afterthought, and honestly, after walking around Riga all day, you’ll appreciate having real space to spread out. The balcony faces a quieter side street, so you get that nice urban hum without the constant traffic noise. I spent more time out there with my morning coffee than I expected, just watching the neighborhood wake up. One small thing – the shower pressure is actually good, which sounds ridiculous to mention but you know how apartment rentals can be. Check-in was straightforward, no drama, and the building itself feels secure without being intimidating. If you’re the type who likes having a proper base camp for exploring rather than just a place to crash, this works really well. Plus, having three bedrooms means you can spread out, use one as an office space, whatever you need.

  What could be improved: The front door is creaky as hell, very difficult to enter/exit unnoticed. Otherwise everything was nice.
