Krasta Home apartament Parking & With CITY & RIVER VIEW
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of apartments in Riga over the years, and this place on Krasta iela genuinely surprised me. When I first saw the name – “Krasta Home apartament Parking & With CITY & RIVER VIEW” – I honestly thought it was one of those places that promises everything and delivers nothing. But you know what? They actually mean it about those views.
The apartment sits right along the Daugava, and from the windows you get this sweeping look across the river toward Old Town’s spires. I mean, you can literally see the cathedral dome from your coffee spot in the morning, which is pretty incredible when you think about it. The Krasta area isn’t exactly touristy – it’s more where locals actually live and work – but that’s what I liked about it. You’re close enough to walk into the city center (maybe 20 minutes if you don’t mind the stroll), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The tram stop is right there too, so getting around is actually easy.
What really sold me was the parking situation. Anyone who’s driven in Riga knows it’s a nightmare trying to find a spot anywhere near the center, but this place just… handles it. You pull up, park, done. No circling blocks or feeding meters every two hours. The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental – there’s real attention to detail in how it’s set up. The kitchen has everything you’d actually need (not just the bare minimum), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every time someone in the building uses their microwave. Small things, but they matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.
I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and honestly, watching the sunrise over the river while the city was still waking up became my favorite part of each day. The neighborhood gets this nice golden light in the early morning, and you can hear the trams starting their routes – it’s got this authentic city rhythm that tourist areas never have. The host was responsive without being pushy, which I appreciated. They clearly know what they’re doing, and that 9.8 rating? Yeah, I get it. It’s not trying to be some luxury hotel experience, but it nails what it promises – comfortable space, great views, and a genuine feel for how people actually live in Riga. If you want to experience the city beyond just the postcard shots of Old Town, this spot gives you that perspective, literally and figuratively.
