So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Grēdu Rezidence on the 8th floor of this building on Grēdu iela, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The address alone had me doing double-takes on Google Maps, but you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones hiding in plain sight in Riga’s quieter residential areas.

This place is actually pretty brilliant once you get up there. The 9.9 rating isn’t some fluke – whoever runs this place really gets the little things that matter. The elevator ride up gives you this anticipation, and then you step into what feels more like a friend’s really well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel. I mean, it’s officially 3 stars, but honestly, the attention to detail puts some 4-star places to shame. The rooms have this warm, lived-in quality without being worn down, if that makes sense. Natural light floods in through these generous windows, and on clear days you get glimpses of Riga’s skyline that most tourists never see from down in the Old Town crush.

What I love about staying here is how it puts you in an actual Riga neighborhood rather than the tourist bubble. Grēdu iela itself is this pleasant residential street where you’ll hear more Latvian than English, which I find refreshing. There’s a decent grocery store about a 3-minute walk away – perfect for grabbing breakfast stuff or that bottle of wine you forgot to pick up earlier. The tram connections are surprisingly good too; you can get to the city center in about 15 minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re stepping into this peaceful pocket where the biggest noise is usually just neighbors coming home from work. Parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the cathedral, which your rental car will thank you for. The building itself has this solid, pre-war feel – thick walls mean you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway, something I definitely appreciated after a few nights in creakier places around the Baltics. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no hovering or upselling, just genuine helpfulness when I asked about the best way to get to Jūrmala the next day. It’s the kind of place where you settle in quickly and start planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  If you are looking for QUIET apartments with parking – this one will fit you very well.
  Location, cleaness, parking and everything else were very good.
  Big compliments to the host for cleaness and some nice stuff.

  The location is fantastic! It’s situated in a quiet area and has its own private territory, which is a huge plus. It’s also near one of the biggest shopping malls in Latvia and just a 5-7 minute walk from the famous Lido restaurant.
  
  As for the apartment itself, it’s amazing. It’s very modern, featuring a large, comfortable flat-screen smart TV and a spacious shower. Everything is really clean, and the kitchen is well-equipped with all the basic cutlery you might need. The bedroom is exceptionally comfortable, with plenty of space and large furniture. We were really surprised by how comfortable the living room couch is, and the super soft blankets and long soft pillows were a delightful touch. Some of the LED lamps were impressive, and the electric lock for the doorway, along with the main hallway sensors for the lamps, was remarkable!It truly has everything you need for a short stay to relax and unwind. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning!

  What could be improved: Apartment itself feels a tiny bit small for our liking, but shouldn't be a problem to anyone unless if you’re looking to hang out there in bigger groups than a people of 2!

  I recently stayed at these apartments, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! The apartment had everything I needed, and it was warm, cozy, and thoughtfully designed to make guests feel at home. Everything was spotlessly clean, tidy, and felt fresh and new—not worn out at all.
  
  The price was excellent for the quality offered. The secure parking was a huge plus, and the "smart key" system for entry made access incredibly easy and hassle-free.
  
  As a bonus, the atmosphere is fantastic for filming beautiful videos for social media—absolutely stunning!
