You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment listing with such a straightforward name, but this place on Daugavpils iela actually surprised me. The 4th floor thing might sound like a pain – and yeah, you’ll be climbing some stairs since older Rīga buildings don’t always have the most reliable elevators – but honestly, that’s where the magic happens with the park view they’re talking about.

The location is pretty solid if you know Rīga at all. Daugavpils iela runs through this mixed residential area that’s got character without being touristy, which I actually prefer. You’re close enough to walk into the city center when you want that Old Town experience, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your windows at midnight. There’s this genuine neighborhood feel – you’ll see locals walking their dogs in the morning, and there’s a small market nearby where you can grab basics without paying tourist prices. The park view is legit too, not just some tiny green patch they’re overselling. I mean, it’s not Central Park, but it’s actual trees and space where people jog and families hang out, especially nice in summer when everything’s green and alive.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental property – you can tell there’s thought put into making it livable. The 8.8 rating makes sense because while it’s not luxury (it’s honest about being 3-star), it delivers on what it promises. The kitchen actually has proper equipment if you want to cook, which is rare in short-term rentals, and the Wi-Fi works reliably. One small thing – street noise isn’t terrible, but Daugavpils iela does get some traffic, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. The building has that solid Soviet-era construction though, so you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs neighbors. Check-in was straightforward, no drama with key pickup or confusing instructions that leave you standing on the street with your luggage. What I really appreciated was having space to actually unpack and settle in rather than living out of a suitcase in some cramped hotel room. Plus, having that park right there gives you somewhere to go with your morning coffee when you need air but don’t want to commit to a whole sightseeing expedition yet.

  Good clean apartment with everything you need. Near the park is convenient to do sports and walk the dog.

  The appartment was on the third floor (not in discribsion) in a terrible neighbourhood ( lot of alcoholics screami g arround). I canceld the appartment without checking-in, wrote the manager by e-mail that she can enjoy the money. It was not save in the neighbourhood. People yelling to my wife.

  What could be improved: Грязно. Увы. Записанный унитаз, следы мочи при поднятии ободка. Длинные черные волосы на сидушке унитаза. В ванне в сливе полно волос, пятна воды на кране душа. Если такие элементарные вещи не почищены, можно только догадываться, как все остальное убирают… Даже думать на хочется.
  В ваной комнате такая малюсенькая раковина, что можно считать её нет. В зале в ящичке чьи-то интимный предметы оставлены, непонятные таблетки … Матрас жутко старый и грязный и после вибраторов в ящике прям неприятно….В целом у квартиры большие перспективы, если все такие хозяева начнут уважать своих гостей и делать элементарные вещи по уборке.

  Первый раз , в этом же доме только ,в другой квартире мы останавливались и нам очень все понравилось . В этот раз понравилась кухня и ее , комплектация . Также интерьер ,молодцы 👍
  
  What could be improved: Не понравилось , к сожалению.. Было не чисто, на полу было много волос , особенно к трюмо! В ванной не исправна ручка, на двери ( вся шатается) . Кровать скрипела , хотя было мягко спать ,но при повороте скрипела . И самое , конечно особенно в жаркое время года , нет никаких штор или жалюзи в гостиной ((
