Honestly, when I first pulled up to Forest Edge Cottage on Beberbeķu Iela, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name had me picturing some rustic cabin situation, but this place is actually a really well-done boutique spot that somehow manages to feel both cozy and sophisticated. You’re technically in Rīga, but this part of the city (up in the Mežaparks area) feels completely different from the touristy Old Town hustle. I mean, you’ve got actual trees around you, which is pretty rare for city accommodations that don’t cost a fortune.

The whole setup here just works, you know? The cottage itself has this warm, lived-in feeling – not like someone’s trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect, but more like a friend’s place where you’d actually want to hang out. The rooms are thoughtfully put together with local touches that don’t feel forced, and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve slept in (and I’m picky about that stuff). What really got me was the attention to small details – good lighting for reading, proper hooks for towels, windows that actually open properly. The kind of stuff you only notice when places get it wrong, but they got it right.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the center, which sounds far but actually ends up being perfect. Mežaparks is where locals go to escape the city without leaving it – there’s the big park right there for morning walks, and you’re close enough to some really good neighborhood spots that tourists never find. The 11 tram line runs pretty regularly and drops you right in the heart of things when you want to explore. Parking’s not a nightmare here either, which anyone who’s driven in Rīga will appreciate. The whole area gets quiet at night in a good way – not dead quiet, just peaceful residential quiet.

Look, with a 9.6 rating, you’d expect this place to be doing something right, and after staying here, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it nails what actually matters when you’re traveling. The staff clearly cares about what they’re doing (check-in was smooth, they had good local recommendations), everything works properly, and you get that rare feeling of being somewhere special without paying resort prices. If you’re the type who wants to experience Rīga more like a local and less like a tourist passing through, this is your spot.

  Cabaña de madera muy bonita y acogedora, en zona de bosque muy cerca de Riga y del aeropuerto. Cocina bien equipada y las habituaciones y cuarto de baño también. Nos facilitaron una cuna para nuestra hija de 2 años.

  Moderna un ietilpīga vienstāva māja. Iekšpusē patīkama dabiska koka apdare. Iekšpuse mājīga ar kamīnu. Labi iekārtota virtuve. Pieejama tēja un kafija. Gultas bija ērtas. Ārpusē ļoti skasts skats ar kokiem un dārza lampām, kas naktī ir izgaismotas. Tuvumā nav redzamas dzīvokļu mājas un satiksme, bet tomēr esot Rīgā. Īpašnieki bija ļoti jauki un mēs patiesi izbaudījām uzturēšanos šeit. Iesakām arī citiem. Astrīda.
  
  Modern spacious one level house. Nice natural wood finish inside and cosy with the wood burner. Kithen well equipped with tea and coffee too. Beads were comfortable and otside the grounds look very nice and beautiful at night with garden lamps and trees. No appartments or traffic in view. Could be anywhere but still in Riga. Hosts were nice and we enjoyed staying there very much. Recommend to others. Astrid.
