Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw the name “Eksporta3-2,” I thought there’d been some kind of booking error. It sounds more like a warehouse code than a hotel, doesn’t it? But here’s the thing about this place on Eksporta iela: it’s actually one of those hidden gems that makes you feel a bit smug for finding it.
The location is what really sold me, though they don’t exactly shout about it. You’re right in the heart of Riga’s business district, which I know sounds boring, but hear me out. It’s this perfect spot where you can walk to the old town in about fifteen minutes (I timed it), but you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your window. The street itself is pretty quiet – mostly office buildings and a few cafes where locals actually go, not the overpriced tourist traps. There’s this little bakery called Maiznīca just two blocks down that does incredible rye bread, and honestly, the smell drifting through the neighborhood in the morning is better than any wake-up call.
The hotel itself feels like someone took a business hotel and actually thought about comfort. The rooms are clean and well-maintained – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which you’d be surprised how rare that can be. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even though there’s a decent amount of traffic during weekday rush hours. The beds are actually comfortable (firm but not rock-hard), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains, which saved my life during those ridiculous white nights in summer. What I really appreciated was the little details – decent water pressure in the shower, enough outlets for all your devices, and Wi-Fi that actually works throughout the building. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s substantial and includes local options alongside the usual continental stuff. They do this really good smoked fish that pairs perfectly with their dark bread.
The staff deserves a mention too – they’re genuinely helpful without being overly chatty. The front desk clerk helped me figure out the most efficient route to the airport using public transport, which saved me about twenty euros on a taxi. Check-in was smooth, and they were flexible about late checkout when my flight got delayed. It’s that kind of practical service that makes a difference when you’re traveling.
Here’s what you should know: this isn’t a place for Instagram photos or romantic getaways. It’s a solid, reliable choice for people who want to actually experience Riga without paying old town prices. The 7.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it won’t disappoint either. If you’re the kind of traveler who values being able to walk to both the medieval old town and the trendy Miera iela district, and you want a quiet night’s sleep without breaking the bank, this place makes a lot of sense. Just don’t expect anyone back home to recognize the name when you tell them where you stayed.

Reviews
Good value for the price! Recommended. – Fajardo from Finland – 1 March 2025 (8/10)
The studio is in a really nice location, well connected to the tram. It has nice lighting, a big TV to watch movies on, wifi, hot water, etc.
The owner is very nice and responsive.
What could be improved: It could've been cleaner (the floor, the bedsheets) and bigger towels would be nice, instead of hand towels.Pleasant – Svitlana from Ukraine – 20 April 2025 (6/10)
Comfortable location.
What could be improved: Shower is broken, one towel for two people, only the residue of a toilet paper, bad sheets with some stains.Bad – Neftali from Mexico – 19 May 2025 (1/10)
What could be improved: The entrance was a disaster. You enter a filthy, ransacked basement. We had no hand or body soap, no shampoo. The drains in the shower and bathroom sink were clogged. There was no natural light. A sofa bed with a very uncomfortable 5-cm mattress. Two horrifying and uncomfortable pillows. The sliding shower door, which barely fits, falls out. It was very far from public transportation and there were no places to buy anything. I slept one night because there was no other option and looked for another place to stay in Riga. I never went back, nor would I. I don't recommend it at all.
Very good – Dmitrijs from Latvia – 18 February 2025 (8/10)
