This little gem sits in what locals call the “real Riga” – not the touristy Old Town chaos, but an actual neighborhood where people live and work.

The location is actually perfect if you want to experience Riga like someone who lives here. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the city center (or hop on tram 11 – it stops practically at your doorstep), but you’re staying in this quiet residential area where you can grab coffee at the corner café and watch babushkas walking their tiny dogs in the morning. The apartment itself feels like your friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room – I mean, there’s actual personality here. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation), and honestly, the bed was so comfortable I kept hitting snooze way too many times. The owners clearly put thought into the small stuff – decent Wi-Fi that actually works, blackout curtains that make a difference, and enough outlets so you’re not playing musical chairs with your chargers.

What really sold me was the neighborhood vibe. Dzeņu iela is this tree-lined street where you’ll hear birds instead of traffic most of the time, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about coming “home” after a day of sightseeing. The nearby Torņakalns area has some excellent restaurants that most tourists never find – there’s this Georgian place on Akmens iela that locals queue for, and a proper Latvian pub where they serve the best grey peas you’ll ever taste (trust me on this one). Parking isn’t a nightmare here either, which anyone who’s driven in Riga will appreciate. The only minor thing is that grocery runs mean a short walk to the Rimi, but honestly, that just gives you more chances to stumble across those hidden courtyards and Art Nouveau details that make Riga special. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually staying in the city rather than just visiting it, this place nails it perfectly.

  Квартира чистая и уютная, на кухне есть все что нужно. Тихий район, рядом маркеты maxima, rimi и круглосуточный Mego.

  Очень хорошие, большие апартаменты, чисто, уютно, полностью соответствует фото, даже лучше в жизни! Находится в тихом районе, рядом с большим магазином который работает до 23:00, нам это очень удобно. Хозяйка очень отзывчивая, гостеприимная и внимательный человек, спасибо вам! Рекомендую!
