I mean, at least they’re upfront about the parking situation, which is actually a huge deal in Rīga if you’ve ever tried to find a spot in the Old Town during summer.

The location on Silmaäu iela is pretty solid, actually. It’s in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the center without dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. I’d say about a 15-minute stroll to the cathedral, maybe 20 if you’re stopping for coffee (which you should – there’s this little place called Miit that does incredible pastries just a few blocks away). The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where actual Latvians go about their day, not just cruise ship groups following umbrella guides. You’ll hear some street noise during the day, but it dies down pretty early in the evening.

The studio itself is genuinely cozy – not marketing-speak cozy, but actually feels like someone put thought into making a small space work well. The bed’s comfortable enough, though the pillows are a bit soft for my taste. What I really appreciated was the little kitchenette setup; it’s basic but functional, and there’s a decent grocery store (Rimi) about three blocks down if you want to grab breakfast stuff or snacks. The bathroom’s small but clean, with one of those European showers where you kind of have to choreograph your movements, but hey, the water pressure’s decent and it gets properly hot. One thing though – the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but mornings and afternoons it’s fine for work calls or whatever.

The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. No pretentious lobby nonsense, just practical and friendly. The host actually gave me some solid recommendations for places that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps – pointed me toward Zeppelin for dinner, which turned out to be fantastic. That kind of local insight makes a difference, you know? And that free parking they mention in the name? It’s legit street parking, not some tiny garage space where you’re playing automotive Tetris. During my stay in October, I never had trouble finding a spot within a block or two.

Look, this isn’t going to win any design awards, and if you’re expecting hotel amenities like daily housekeeping or a concierge, you’re in the wrong place. But for the price point and that 8-point rating, it delivers on the basics really well. It’s clean, functional, and positioned in a part of Rīga that feels authentic without being inconvenient. Perfect for someone who wants to explore the city without paying Old Town prices or dealing with the summer crowds stumbling past your window at midnight. I’d definitely stay here again, terrible name and all.
