The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of relief that you’ve found your spot in Riga. It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street that most tourists probably walk right past, which is actually perfect because you get that authentic neighborhood vibe without the chaos.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place – everything’s thoughtfully chosen without being precious about it. The kitchen actually has proper cookware (not those flimsy pans you usually get), and there’s this great morning light that streams through the windows while you’re making coffee. I loved that they had real coffee beans, not just instant packets. The bed is properly comfortable too, which matters more than people admit when they’re choosing places to stay. You can hear some street noise during the day, but it’s more like gentle city life than anything disruptive – actually quite pleasant if you’re used to urban sounds.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re about a fifteen-minute walk from Old Town, which means you can easily wander over for dinner or sightseeing, but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your door. There’s a small grocery store literally around the corner – one of those local places where the cashier starts recognizing you after a couple days. The tram stop on Daugavgrīvas is close enough to reach the rest of the city without hassle, and parking (if you’re driving) is surprisingly manageable for this area. I noticed the owner clearly knows the neighborhood well – they left this handwritten note with recommendations for a bakery two blocks away that honestly had some of the best rye bread I’ve had in Latvia.

The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here a couple nights. It’s not trying to be fancy or impressive – it’s just genuinely comfortable and well-thought-out. The WiFi actually works properly, the shower has good pressure, and there are enough outlets near the bed for your devices. Little things like having a full-length mirror and decent lighting make a difference when you’re getting ready to explore the city. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too – no complicated key pickup procedures or confusing instructions. Sometimes the best places are the ones that just work exactly as they should, without any drama or complications.

  This apartment was a very nice one and we spent three days wandering in Riga and around it. It seems to be newly renovated and everything was done with good taste. The kitchen is quite big and spacious. The windows allow both to enjoy the late summer evenings and to hide the early morning light. We have very nice memories from Riga and the apartment is among them.
