Charming flat with beautiful riverside views

You know what really caught me off guard about this place? The name says “flat” but honestly, it feels more like staying in someone’s really well-curated home rather than a typical hotel room. I mean, when you’re standing at those riverside windows in the morning with your coffee, watching the Daugava flow by – it’s the kind of view that makes you forget you’re technically in accommodation.

The location on Balasta dambis is actually pretty brilliant, though it might not seem obvious at first glance. You’re far enough from the Old Town chaos to get proper sleep (trust me, those cobblestone streets can get rowdy), but close enough that you can walk to Vecrīga in about 15 minutes if you’re feeling energetic. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – there’s something about being right by the water that just dampens the city noise. The building itself has that solid Soviet-era construction, which honestly means thick walls and none of that paper-thin hotel nonsense where you hear every conversation in the hallway.

The riverside views aren’t just a marketing thing either – they’re genuinely spectacular, especially if you catch sunset from the right angle. I spent way too much time just watching the boats go by and the way the light hits the water differently throughout the day. The furnishing is thoughtful without being fussy – someone clearly put effort into making it feel homey rather than sterile. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that corporate hotel rigmarole. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (honestly, most of central Rīga is), but there are spots if you’re patient. The kitchen setup is actually functional too, which is rare – I made breakfast there a couple mornings and everything I needed was actually there, not just for show. If you’re the type who likes to grab groceries and eat in sometimes, you’ll appreciate that. The whole experience just feels more authentic than staying in some international chain where every room looks identical. It’s got character, you know?

  It’s very well-equipped, featuring two spacious bathrooms and bedrooms with super comfy beds, a beautiful living room with designer furniture, a fully stocked kitchen and a lovely balcony.
  
  The apartment has plenty of windows, offering an amazing view of the yacht port, river and old town. The location is peaceful, just a 15-minute walk to the old town, with a supermarket conveniently nearby. Free parking in the yard.
