Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Riga, and honestly? Brivibas Residence caught me completely off guard. You know that feeling when you’re expecting something pretty basic and then walk into somewhere that just… works? That’s exactly what happened here. The location on Maija iela is actually perfect – I mean, you’re close enough to the Old Town that you can walk there in about 15 minutes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos and late-night bar noise. Plus, and this is huge if you’re driving, they’ve got their own private parking. In Riga, that’s like finding gold.

The whole self check-in thing had me a bit nervous at first (I’m old school, I guess), but it’s actually brilliant. They send you all the details ahead of time, and you just let yourself in – no waiting around for someone to show up, no awkward small talk when you’re exhausted from traveling. The apartments themselves are split between West and East buildings, and I’ve been in both. Honestly, either one works fine, though the East side seems a bit quieter if you’re picky about street noise. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to make these places feel like actual homes rather than sterile hotel rooms. The kitchens are properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and a coffee maker, but real cooking space if you want to grab groceries from the Rimi down the street and make dinner. The WiFi is solid too, which matters when you’re trying to video call home or get some work done.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – it’s got that 9.6 rating for a reason, and it’s not just because it’s new or flashy. It’s because someone clearly thought about what travelers actually need. The beds are comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), the water pressure is decent, and there’s enough space to actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night. The neighborhood has this nice residential feel – you’ll see locals walking their dogs in the morning, there’s a decent bakery about two blocks away, and it’s the kind of area where you can get a real sense of how people actually live in Riga. I mean, sure, it’s not luxury – it’s a 3-star place – but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. No pretentious lobby, no overpriced room service, just a clean, comfortable place to sleep that doesn’t make you feel like you’re in some corporate hotel chain. If you’re the type who values independence and doesn’t need someone holding your hand through every part of your stay, this place will definitely work for you.

  OK the ONLY points i would make is lack of closet space for clothing although there are plenty of hooks. Looking at the original layout of the property I can understand why, so its worth preparing for that. Otherwise an exceptional property with wonderful communication with company. To main shopping mall Akropolis is only 5mins with car and you can get a tram direct. Bolt is easy and cheap if you dont want to take the car everywhere local

  Very clean apartment. Thoughtful details. Parking on a spot is a nice advantage.
  
  What could be improved: Only suggestion would be to change the bedsheets to new cotton ones. It was a bit "tired" with fuzzballs, therefore sleeping was not very comfortable.

  Self check-in service is always appreciated. Apartment was clean. You could find all necessary things for the stay during weekend. The owners were very helpful during the whole stay.
