You know what struck me first about Brivibas Residence? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street – Maija iela – that most tourists would walk right past without noticing. I mean, you’re still in Riga proper, but it feels like you’ve stumbled into one of those neighborhoods where actual locals live, which honestly makes the whole experience feel more authentic than staying in some cookie-cutter hotel district.

The self check-in thing had me a bit nervous at first (I’m sort of old-fashioned that way), but it’s actually brilliant – especially if you’re flying in late or just want to avoid the whole front desk dance. They send you clear instructions, and honestly, it takes about two minutes once you figure out where the key lockbox is. What really sold me though was walking in and realizing this isn’t your typical budget accommodation trying to pass itself off as something fancy. The apartments – they have both south and north-facing units, hence the name – are genuinely spacious and feel like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The south-facing ones get incredible light in the morning, which I didn’t expect for a 3-star place.

Here’s the thing that’ll make or break your stay if you’re driving: the private parking is legit free, and in Riga, that’s not something you take for granted. I watched other travelers at nearby hotels paying 15-20 euros a night just to park, while I’m literally walking thirty seconds from my car to the front door. The WiFi actually works too – I know, revolutionary concept – but I was video calling family back home without any of those awkward frozen-face moments. The area gets pretty quiet after about 9 PM, which means you’ll sleep well, but it also means you’ll want to grab dinner before then since the immediate neighborhood isn’t exactly restaurant central. That said, you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to some great local spots, and the tram connections are solid if you want to hit Old Town or the Art Nouveau district. What really impressed me was how the place felt lived-in but not worn down – like someone’s grandmother’s apartment that’s been lovingly maintained. Even the small details, like having actual hangers in the closet and decent water pressure in the shower, reminded me that someone who actually travels probably designed this place.

  The apartment is in a convenient location for arriving by car, with a good parking lot. The apartment is newly furnished and has everything you could need. Everything has been thought of, even toothbrushes for guests.
  
  What could be improved: The walls between the apartments are very thin and there were noisy neighbors behind the wall.

  Puhas, hea asukoht, tasuta parkimine aias sees, laste mänguplats, tv igas toas, köögis kõik vajalik olemas, kohvi, tee, vannitoas tagavara hambaharjad, piisavalt ruumikas, mõnus kujundus, kõik töötas.
  
  What could be improved: Dušši kõrgust ei saanud reguleerida kõrgemale- häiris pea pesemist.
  Märg põrand oli märjana väga libe. Täiskasvanule polnud hullu, aga väikeste lastega peab olema väga ettevaatlik. Minu 2-aastane kukkus hoolimata pingutustest selle ennetamiseks.
  Muus osas oli kõik tore ja ok.

  Die Unterkunft war perfekt und absolut empfehlenswert! Die Lage biete für kleines Geld die Möglichkeit mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln in 25 Minuten ins Zentrum zu fahren.
