You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name “Bright and cozy next to park” actually undersells it – I mean, yeah, it’s literally next to a park on Krāsotāju iela, but there’s something genuinely charming about how unpretentious it is. When I first walked up to number 6, I was expecting your typical budget spot, but honestly, the whole vibe felt more like staying at a friend’s well-kept apartment than a hotel.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Rīga at all. Krāsotāju iela is one of those quiet residential streets that locals love but tourists rarely stumble onto by accident – you’re close enough to walk into the city center without dealing with all the noise and foot traffic. The park they’re referring to is right there, and I found myself cutting through it most mornings on my way to grab coffee. There’s this little playground that gets busy around 4 PM with local families, which sounds annoying but is actually kind of nice background chatter if you’re working from your room. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in Rīga will appreciate. The staff runs a tight ship without being formal about it; check-in was smooth, and when I had questions about getting to the airport, they actually knew the bus schedule off the top of their head instead of just handing me a generic printout. I guess that 8.9 rating makes sense when you add up all these little wins. It’s not fancy – we’re talking solid 3-star territory – but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and you end up recommending it to people because it delivered exactly what it promised without any weird surprises.
