You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name “Bright and cozy next to park” actually undersells it – I mean, yeah, it’s literally next to a park on Krāsotāju iela, but there’s something genuinely charming about how unpretentious it is. When I first walked up to number 6, I was expecting your typical budget spot, but honestly, the whole vibe felt more like staying at a friend’s well-kept apartment than a hotel.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Rīga at all. Krāsotāju iela is one of those quiet residential streets that locals love but tourists rarely stumble onto by accident – you’re close enough to walk into the city center without dealing with all the noise and foot traffic. The park they’re referring to is right there, and I found myself cutting through it most mornings on my way to grab coffee. There’s this little playground that gets busy around 4 PM with local families, which sounds annoying but is actually kind of nice background chatter if you’re working from your room. Speaking of rooms, they’ve clearly put thought into the “bright” part of their name – big windows, light colors, none of that dark wood furniture that makes you feel like you’re in a cave.

What really won me over was the attention to small stuff that matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The Wi-Fi works everywhere (tested it), there’s decent water pressure, and – this might sound weird – but the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into quicksand. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in Rīga will appreciate. The staff runs a tight ship without being formal about it; check-in was smooth, and when I had questions about getting to the airport, they actually knew the bus schedule off the top of their head instead of just handing me a generic printout. I guess that 8.9 rating makes sense when you add up all these little wins. It’s not fancy – we’re talking solid 3-star territory – but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and you end up recommending it to people because it delivered exactly what it promised without any weird surprises.

  – Great location: not too center, not too far, near the park

  – Brand new facilities (bathroom, kitchen, bed etc)
  – Bath tub (and the water heater volume is enough to fill it up!)
  
  What could be improved: – It can be quite hot inside when sunny
  – A watchout is a couple of footsteps near the door, both outside and inside (!) the apartment
  – In my opinion, a property located in a wooden house should have fire alarms, and we felt a little unsafe because of that
  – The apartment is quite empty in terms of little supplies – no tea, no cooking oil, etc. Not that it is a must, but this fact contradicts with the overall great impression.
  – No bottle of sparkling wine unlike promised (don't promise it if you don't bring it – nobody expects that by default)
  – Toilet has a noisy pump

  Very nice and comfortable small apartment. Good location, very quiet neighbourhood, shops and restaurants still near, perfect for me. Everything was new except the outside of the house and stairwell but that doesn’t matter. Instructions to get the key came first day of reservation automatically even it tells you to contact host. I would book again, recommend.

  Perfectly clean little flat, very kind cleaning lady, good location near park and close to the city center. Everything looked like brand new.
  
  What could be improved: There was no heating except a small one in the bathroom, so in the evening the room was really cold. There was very limited tea or coffee selection, so bring your own. Also no bottle as promissed when booking.

  It’s located close to the central area. Just 10-12 on foot from major tram and bus stops. Good, fast internet, very clean and comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: The owner didn’t share check in instructions in good time, had to wait outside for some time. The cooker wasn’t functioning.
