Audeju Old Town Apartments Overview
You know what struck me first about Audeju Old Town Apartments? The building itself – it’s this beautifully restored historical place right on Audeju Street, and I mean right in the thick of things without being chaotic. The entrance has this lovely old-world charm that immediately tells you you’re staying somewhere with character, not some cookie-cutter hotel. When I walked in, there was this perfect balance of original architectural details and modern comfort that honestly made me a bit jealous – like, why can’t all places figure this out?
The location is absolutely brilliant, and I’m not just saying that because it’s “centrally located” (hate that phrase). You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Cathedral and Town Hall Square, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re positioned just far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t have groups of drunk stag parties stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The street itself is actually quite peaceful, especially considering you’re in the heart of Riga’s Old Town. I stayed there in late spring and could hear the morning birds more clearly than the traffic, which was unexpected and lovely. Plus, if you’re planning to explore beyond the old town, the tram stops are super close – the number 11 tram basically connects you to everywhere you’d want to go.
What really impressed me was how the apartments feel like actual homes rather than sterile hotel rooms. The kitchenettes are properly equipped (I actually cooked a simple dinner with groceries from the Central Market), and the living spaces have enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are modern and well-designed, though I’ll be honest – the shower pressure could be stronger, but that’s pretty typical for older buildings in this part of the city. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to research day trips or upload photos. One small thing that stood out was how quiet the building is – you’d think with apartments above and below you’d hear everything, but the sound insulation is surprisingly good. Check-in was smooth too, though I’d recommend confirming arrival times in advance since it’s not a traditional hotel with 24-hour front desk service. The 9-star rating honestly makes sense – it’s the kind of place that gets the important stuff right without any unnecessary fuss.

Reviews of Audeju Old Town Apartments
Superb – Siobhan from United Kingdom – 4 July 2025 (9/10)
Everything about the apartment itself is fantastic!
What could be improved: You should be aware it's close to a bar playing loud music which did stop at 11.30 on Mon and Tues night when we were there but might go on later over the weekend. It can't be heard from the 2 main bedrooms but is quite intrusive in the 3rd bedroom and living area if you have the windows open (it was very hot when we stayed!).
