You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Apartments Stabu when I first walked up to the building on Stabu iela – I mean, it’s sandwiched between some pretty standard Soviet-era blocks – but honestly, this place surprised me in the best way. The entrance is actually quite charming once you spot it (look for 85a, not just 85), and the whole setup feels more like staying in a friend’s well-kept apartment than a typical hotel. The lobby’s small but welcoming, with this cozy Scandinavian-meets-Baltic vibe that immediately puts you at ease. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no corporate nonsense, just genuine folks who actually seem to care about your stay.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right in the heart of Riga’s most liveable neighborhood. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Kronvalda Park, which is perfect for morning runs or just escaping the city buzz, and the Old Town is close enough that you can stumble back after exploring the bars on Elizabetes iela without breaking the bank on taxis. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I had this corner unit with windows that actually opened (thank god, because some places here are sealed shut), and the kitchen was properly equipped, not just for show. I mean, I’m talking real plates, sharp knives, a coffee maker that doesn’t require an engineering degree to operate. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which matters when you’re trying to figure out Riga’s public transport system or just want to video call home without pixelated nightmares.

Here’s the thing about the area – it’s got this perfect balance where you feel like you’re living in actual Riga, not tourist Riga. There’s a Rimi supermarket literally around the corner, plus this little bakery that opens ridiculously early and makes these incredible rye pastries that’ll ruin your diet plans. The tram stop is maybe two blocks away, so getting to the Central Market or the railway station is dead easy. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but the staff actually helped me figure out the resident zones, which saved me from those steep tourist parking rates. The neighborhood gets refreshingly quiet after 9 PM – you’ll hear the occasional tram, but it’s more of a gentle rumble than the chaos you’d expect in a capital city. Honestly, for a 3-star spot with an 8.5 rating, Apartments Stabu delivers exactly what it promises: a genuine, comfortable base in Riga that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but does everything it should really, really well.

  Normal stay. I a bit oldish. Should be cheaper. But good host, good communication. Self check in.
  
  What could be improved: A bit oldish. It was cold when we stayed as the central heating was not working, and there was a heater only for the bathroom. For bedroom, there was no heater. Hope its now solved.

  Очень хороший бюджетный вариант проживания недалеко от центра, от ж/д вокзала пешком 15 мин. До набережной 35-40 мин. Стоит пойти пешком, т.к. на каждом шагу есть что посмотреть.) Безконтактное заселение. Заранее договорились, что приедем раньше на два часа, хозяин без проблем согласился. В квартире есть всё для проживания, обсолютно ВСЁ на все случаи жизни! В коридоре и ванной комнате обогреватели если холодно. В комнате вентилятор если жарко. В кухне есть плита, микроволновка, холодильник, стиральная машина, чайник, любая посуда для приготовления и принятия пищи(тарелки, чашки, фужеры, кастрюли, сковородки). Чай, кофе и даже конфеты🍬, было очень приятно. Спасибо.))) В комнате двуспальная кровать (и есть дополнительная складная), телевизор, напольная вешалка и даже отпариватель. Дополнительные подушки и одеяла. В прихожей даже имеется зонт на случай если вы забыли свой! Достаточно чисто. Может быть не идеально, но дом довольно старый, чувствуешь, как будто приехал в гости к бабушке.))) Нам с мужем очень понравилось. В шаговой доступности два магазина, Rimi и Elvi (Avotu iela 48). В трёх минутах супер бюджетная кафешка (типа столовой) китайской кухни, если любите. Работает до 20.00 (воскресенье выходной) Мы обедали там и с собой на воскресенье брали (1 салат и две лапши с мясом – 5 €). Так же прямо напротив дома кафе (подороже). В общем мы с мужем очень довольны.
  
  What could be improved: Окна выходят на довольно оживленную улицу, так что будьте готовы, что слышен проезжающий транспорт. Но нам это не мешало.
  Немного мешал эл. щиток расположенный в изголовье кровати, он шумит.
