So I stumbled across this place on Peitavas iela while hunting for something that wasn’t your typical tourist trap hotel, and honestly? It’s one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your booking skills. The building itself has that solid, pre-war Riga character – you know, the kind with thick walls that actually keep the street noise out, which is saying something since Old Town can get pretty lively on weekends.

What really sold me was stepping onto that balcony for the first time. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Old Town but tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never even notice. You can hear the church bells from St. Peter’s in the morning (actually quite lovely at 9 AM, less charming at 6), but none of the drunk bachelor party chaos that plagues some of the main squares. The three bedrooms are properly sized too – not those cramped European “bedrooms” that barely fit a double bed. The owners clearly know their stuff because they’ve kept the original hardwood floors and these gorgeous high ceilings, but added modern touches where it actually matters, like decent water pressure and reliable WiFi.

Location-wise, you’re about a three-minute walk to Dome Square, but here’s the thing locals know – you’re also super close to that little grocery store on Audēju iela that stays open late, and honestly, that’s worth its weight in gold when you want to grab breakfast stuff or a bottle of wine without trekking to a tourist-priced shop. The tram stop is right there if you need to get to the central station, and parking… well, it’s Old Town, so street parking is a bit of a lottery, but there’s a paid lot about two blocks away that’s not too brutal on your wallet. The 7.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (none of that “oh, we don’t have your reservation” drama), and the place was actually clean, which shouldn’t be noteworthy but, you know, sometimes is. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Riga rather than just passing through, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  Very good location in the old town, close to restaurants and bars. Quiet, except in the second night could hear some noise, probably from the pub nearby. Everything was working properly.
  
  What could be improved: The pictures at Booking.com were not from this apartment, which was quite surprising. We did miss a microwave.

  Location is great, close to everything.
  Second floor- not for elderly people.
  The apartment is quite big. Very quite.
  
  What could be improved: Kitchen amenities are really really basic.
  Bathroom are a little bit dangerous….
  Shower located on a very high platform- you have to be very careful about stepping down from it.

  What could be improved: Egyik szobának nem volt ablaka és nem volt benne lerakó bútorzat . A másikon nem volt ajtó. Ebből a szobából egy üvegfalon át pont a wc-re lehetett látni . A másik fürdőben alig lehetett a wc-hez férni . A kulcs a széfbe volt szorulva , rosszul tették be . Alig bírtuk kivenni .
  Kevesebb ágyhuzatot kaptunk , hiába kértük, külön ágyazzanak meg !
  12 éjszakáról volt szó !
  Öten voltunk , nem volt annyi bögre , fogas . Csak fürdőlepedők voltak kikészítve, kisebbek nem .
