You know what caught me off guard about these apartments? The moment you step inside, you actually feel like you’re in someone’s stylish Riga home rather than a typical rental. I mean, the name literally translates to “atmospheric apartments in Old Riga” and honestly, they nailed it. The building sits right on Jēkaba iela – which, if you know Riga at all, puts you smack in the heart of everything that matters in the Old Town. I’m talking about a two-minute walk to the Town Hall Square, and you can literally hear the church bells from St. Peter’s throughout the day (in a charming way, not annoying).

What really gets me is how they’ve managed to blend that authentic Latvian character with actual modern comfort. The apartments have these beautiful original details – think exposed wooden beams and traditional moldings – but then you’ve got proper heating (trust me, this matters in a Baltic winter), fast WiFi, and kitchens that actually work. The host clearly knows their stuff too; check-in was smooth and they gave me the kind of local tips you’d get from a friend who’s lived here for years. Like, they told me which entrance to use late at night (the main door can be tricky after 10 PM) and where to grab the best coffee on the street – turns out it’s this tiny place called Miit that I never would’ve found otherwise.

The location thing is honestly what makes or breaks Old Riga stays, and these apartments absolutely deliver. You’re close enough to walk to everything – the Art Nouveau district, the Central Market, all the main restaurants – but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with bachelor parties stumbling past your window at 3 AM. Parking’s actually manageable here too, which is saying something for this part of town. There’s a small lot nearby and street parking that doesn’t cost a fortune. The building itself has that solid, pre-war construction, so you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs (though you will hear the occasional tram, but that’s just part of the Riga soundtrack). I stayed here during shoulder season and it felt perfectly peaceful, though I imagine summer gets busier with all the cruise ship crowds hitting the nearby attractions. If you’re someone who appreciates staying somewhere with actual character – where you feel connected to the city rather than isolated in some generic hotel bubble – this place really delivers on that front.

  The room is really cute and small. You can experience the space of an ancient house. The location is right in the old town. The price is too cheap compared to what you get. I recommend that if you go with 4 people, this is a great place.

  Location was perfect, quiet and peaceful while being right in the centre and within walking distance of the main squares and all main attractions. The apartment was clean, beautifully decorated and cosy. The decor was rustic and it had a home from home feel. Very comfortable bed and ideal sleeping area that was silent enabling a good rest. The smart TV is good also. Overall a great stay, would recommend to anyone visiting Riga.
  
  What could be improved: There was a lack of extra amenities such at extra toilet roll, salt & pepper, cooling oil and kitchen roll. Other things to consider would be a blanket for the sofa for added comfort, scissors in the kitchen. These are small touches that would have perfected our stay. It is clear the apartment is new which is brilliant as it is clean and however it does feel like there are a few minor details missing.
